About Nachos
Nachos are a traditional Mexican dish consisting of tortilla chips typically topped with melted cheese, jalapeños, beans, and other savory ingredients. The dish originated in the 1940s in Piedras Negras, Mexico, when a Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya created it for American military wives.
Nachos have since become a widely popular snack and appetizer, especially in the United States, where numerous variations include meat, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
Their versatility and ease of preparation have contributed to their global appeal, making nachos a common feature at casual gatherings, sports events, and Mexican-themed restaurants worldwide.
